Greater diversity = less community involvement
Research from Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam found that as diversity increases, civic involvement and neighborhood trust decline. "We can't ignore the findings," says Ali Noorani, Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition executive director. "The big question we have to ask ourselves is, what do we do about it; what are the next steps?"
